About
Founded in 1999 the Crazy Redhawk Clan is maybe one of the oldest funclans in Europe, playing the RainbowSix series. The clan was founded by three guys, one of them still being an active member.
The First Steps
The roots of the Crazy Redhawk Clan date back to the late 90ies. 3 young guys from a town near Frankfurt/Main had fun with gaming the brand new Rainbow Six - Game. In times in when there was no DSL, and Internet was something very slow, they discovered multiplayer gaming via LAN. Back then, the 56k-modem technique was the latest innovation, and only a few people had the privilege to use this modern kind of communication. So the first days of gaming were mostly singleplayer based and sometimes, if u knew more than just one guy with a PC on which RainbowSix was running, you connected 2 PCs with a cable and you had the first LAN-Party in your neighbourhood. An event like this among schoolfriends was the beginning of the Crazy Redhawk Clan.
The Name
What business does the word "Redhawk" have in the middle of the clan name? That's also easy to describe. In RainbowSix II - Rogue Spear gamers has had the possibility to mod the game, so you got weapon mods, new skins, some maps and other stuff. In one special extensive weapons mods you had a Ruger Redhawk revolver, caliber .45 with a scope (!) on it. You think that's crappy shit, a scope on a .45 revolver? Of course it is, but these kinds of weapons are very popular in the US, and you really can own a Ruger Redhawk .45 with mounted scope. No joke! So the CRC guys around CaRnAgE and Redhawkman had much fun fighting pistol battles with the Ruger and so they chose the name Crazy Redhawk Clan. Because it's crazy to battle one another with 6 rounds revolvers with a scope on it. It's crazy to play Redhawk only in the clan, the Crazy Redhawk Clan was born. Later this legendary pistol battles were the basic precondition to become a full member of CRC: As an aspirant you needed to kill Redhawkman and SeNsEr with a Ruger Redhawk in the "Emergency"-map with 100% preciseness.
Extra Members
In 2001/2002 another guy showed up in this clan, it was Jacky Thrilla. And also SeNsEr's little brother joined the clan, first known as BuRnMaN, later and until now he is called Psych0. Around these days they started gaming Ghost Recon, another Tom Clancy based game, but this time it was a military shooter, and you mainly played field operations in huge map areas. In 2002, the Crazy Redhawk Clan had the Beat the Bastards III, an in the meantime traditional clan-only LAN-party at Headquarter in Germany. This event was frequented by other guys as well, but they never became full members of the Crazy Redhawk Clan.
A New Game and the GAFM guys
Around the time RainbowSix III: Ravenshield appeared, the clan was expanding activities, and ADSL allowed people to play via Internet quite well. So this was the time when regular evening sessions started taking place. Later on, in 2003 the addon for Ravenshield, Athena Sword, appeared and along with it the fabulous Capture the Enemy game mode. In these times 2 dutch gamers known as the GAFM clan (Get Away From Me) joined the Crazy Redhawk Clan. It was The N Man and Penalty. This meant the ignition of the modern Crazy Redhawk Clan we all know today.
The N Man, Penalty and ManOwaR (Extra Members II)
With The N Man, the clan was getting a skilled programmer and an even more skilled gamer. With Penalty they got a big funcomponent and he was the guy who made sure that it should never become boring and the "crazy" in the clan tag was gaining some impact. Now, The Crazy Redhawk Clan, was a international clan, and no company of German backwoodsmen any more. The amount of members increased up to 6. Shortly after an another Capture the Enemy-addicted guy named |SiR|ManOwaR was totally disappointed with the pressure of success he felt in his old clan SiR so he said "goodbye" to them and joined the Crazy Redhawk Clan to have fun instead. Later two Croatian guys joined the clan for some months, but they disappeared as fast as they turned up.
The N Man
The N Man was a big present by the Goddess of gaming to the Crazy Redhawk Clan. He turned up with Penalty, together they had been the GAFM Clan, at the Crazy Redhawk Clan. He did the programming for the whole online presence. And as a matter of fact this occurences lead to the Crazy Redhawk Clan with all the members it encompasses today. He also had the idea to have an own server, so we scraped some money together and bought the components for our clan-server Victoria. And now we are proud owners of an own multifunctional server.
Extra Members III
The latest members are LoW, in real life Hawky's brother-in-law and Marvin, who was invited by Jacky in December 2005. So the total amount of members today (september 2006) is 9.
Today's members are (earliest to latest): : RedHawkMan, SeNsEr, Jacky Thrilla, Psych0, The N Man, Penalty, ManOwaR, LoW and Marvin.
Epilogue
We are all guys between 18 and 36, living in Germany and in The Netherlands. We are a pure fun clan, we are absolutely non-cheating and we don't play for profit, but for fun, fun and fun. (We're not active recruiting anymore, too much clanhoppers and youngsters tried to join us. But if you like our idea of gaming, our site, our style and our "unique" sense of humor, then join our server and play with us. Our games right now are: Battlefield 2, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, Raven Shield and some funny BF2-Mods like Battleracer. You can find everyday some of us gaming around or just spending some time together via Internet.)
